Position: President

Valorie Zimmerman
Currently President of South King County Genealogical Society

I'm a grandmother, mother and wife who loves family, people, genealogy, free software, travelling, music, art, anthropology, history, gardening and nature. Active member of the South King County Genealogy Society Board where I serve as president, the Black Genealogy Research Group of Seattle Board (vice-president), the Washington Presidents Council, the Washington State Genealogical Society Board (vice-president), and Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, PFLAG. I love research, writing, reading and helping people.

Position: Treasurer

Michele Mattoon
Currently Treasurer of South King County Genealogical Society

My roots are in South King County. I grew up in Black Diamond and am an Enumclaw High School Graduate, so being part of SKCGS feels like home, even though I now live in Seattle.

Genealogy has been my hobby for many years and I have been learning and researching in earnest for about a decade. I’m also a member of NGS, NYG&B, NEHGS, The Black Diamond Historical Society, The Mayflower Society and the DAR, among others.

I have been a member of SKCGS since 2018, and have served as Treasurer since 2019. It would be my pleasure to continue serving in this position.
